about good.
Good is a charity focused on serving the poor wherever they are, with a focus on projects that develop their local community and nation for their good, long term. We aim to support projects that offer a hand up to those living in challenging environments.
our history
The Good Trust was founded in 2009 by Andrew Nicol and James Grafas. Friends and colleagues from New Zealand, Andrew and James shared a discontent poverty around the world in its many forms.
Having a background in business it wasn't long before ideas were being thrown around for creative enterprises that could shun the usual system of serving owners or shareholders, and instead make money to serve the poor.
good.events was the first project to launch with both Andrew and James using their birthday parties as opportunities to raise money for well projects. Before long many others jumped on board and brought with them their own ideas, creativity and passion to make good. the organisation it is today.
our purpose
There is a worldwide movement of people who believe the world CAN change!
That every person has the right to live without the constant burden of where their next meal will come from, or the struggle to find dirty water that will make them sick.
The Good Trust aims to be a part of that story by making known the plight of the poor and raising money through donations and social enterprise to bring relief, foundations and growth!
a 100% charity
We want to restore the publics trust in charity. Because of this, 100% of all public donations and proceeds from the good.trust go to projects we support.
All our operational costs are covered by generous individuals and businesses who choose to support the good.trust both financially and with gifts in kind.
At present we partner with one organization to fund projects. They too pass through 100% of good.trust contributions directly to the actual project being funded.
galatians 6:9
The Good Trust is largely a story of faith taking action. We believe that the God of the bible is good and that He cares for humanity. We believe He calls His people and all people to serve one another, and in particular the poor.
This is displayed in a verse that that has become increasingly important to us; Galatians 6:9,
'Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.'
We hope to see the work of good. and the many other organisations and people serving the poor now bring a great harvest in the future. A harvest that would see each person have enough to live peacefully and healthily with their families.
